McKinney Economic Development Corp. (MEDC)

The McKinney Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) is a sales tax–funded, statutory nonprofit corporation dedicated to economic development in McKinney, Texas. It leads the broad-based expansion of the city's business tax base and promotes sustainable growth. For software founders, MEDC runs the McKinney Innovation Fund: up to $200,000 in non-dilutive grants for innovation-focused companies. U.S. founders can use it to relocate and ramp up local hiring; international founders can use it to expand into the United States with a soft landing in McKinney. McKinney has a young, highly educated workforce and draws on Collin County's labor pool of more than 600,000 people. It is one of the fastest-growing cities in the country.
